Haven't updated for awhile....I promise to do better.
Here's some of my latest obsessions that you should check out:
1. Corner by Allie Moss---excellent folksy pop (that's a genre that I think I made up)
2. Upside Down by Paloma Faith---if you are a fan of Amy Winehouse or Duffy you should check her out
3. As For Now by Lindsay Rae Spurlock---piano driven singer/songwriter/pop-ish---you'll probably like this if you are a fan of Regina Spektor or Sara Barellies
4. Bleeding Hearts by Parlour Steps---indie pop at it's best in my opinion. Think a more pop like version of The Arcade Fire.
5. Mrs. Cold by Kings of Convenience---more fantastic indie folk/pop.
6. Strobe by Deadmau5---a fantastic techno/trance track from my favorite dj's latest album
7. A House is Not a Home by Field Music----I've recently discovered these guys and I can't get enough of them. This is one of their singles and really I'm not sure how to describe it. There are times where it has what sounds like the piano part of a classical piece and kind of a honky tonk feel at times. I don't know....just listen to it! :o)
8. No One Could Ever by Hudson Mohawke---a dj that I have recently discovered. But he is very different. His music is kind of crazy, almost disjointed at times....but he makes it work and I love it.
9. Low Rising by The Swell Season---more singer/songwriter folk stuff. If you have seen the movie Once or are familiar with the band The Frames then you will recognize these guys. (And if you haven't seen the movie Once, then you should. It's an excellent movie with an even better soundtrack that includes the song that won the Oscar that year, "Falling Slowly")
10.To Build a Home by The Cinematic Orchestra---I love to listen to these guys when I am trying to go to sleep. Very mellow and relaxing stuff. This particular song was used recently by Billy Bell for his So You Think You Can Dance audition. (that's actually the link I'm putting here) It's such a emotionally moving song. I actually forgotten about it until I saw his audition and now I can't stop listening...
Alright....that's it for now. Check these out...you won't be disappointed! =)
